Our Mission

We believe that the transformative power of AI should result in a more equal society. 

We help organisations to Adopt and Adapt to AI technology Responsibly, Thoughtfully & Mindfully by:

  • Identifying how AI technologies can enable them to achieve their mission in completely new ways;

  • Identifying how other people’s use of AI might change their mission completely

As a social enterprise, we will reinvest some of our profits into supporting those organisations with the least capacity to make changes, as we believe they are also the organisations that stand to benefit the most.

  • We combine decades of AI knowledge; change management expertise and a coaching-led approach.

    We guide leaders of purpose-driven organisations—schools, small businesses, and charities—to use AI responsibly and mindfully, while also helping them understand and adapt to AI-related trends around them. 

    Through a combination of expert knowledge, easy to use frameworks and engaging facilitation and training, we help leaders to manage change by:

    • Putting in place the cultures for innovation that are necessary for working safely with AI, 

    • leading powerful conversations with teams 

    • building knowledge and skills within their teams 

    • putting in place appropriate guardrails.

    • understanding its consequences for society and their clients and/or community 

    • prioritising their deployment of AI technologies.

  • We take organisations on a journey to being an AIConfident organisation, characterised by:

    1. An understanding of the opportunities and risks presented by AI for your specific organisation;

    2. An organsiational culture that encourages staff to use generative AI technologies alongside them in their dayjob, equipping them with the skills to do so;

    3. Having proportionate AI guidelines in place to ensure responsible and safe use throughout the organisation;

    4. Taking a deeper look at organisational objectives, processes and workflows to identify highest impact, lowest risk AI use cases with which to experiment;

    5. Has the necessary independent support to develop and deliver AI experimentation 

  • Taking organisations on a journey to being confident to innovate with AI technologies:

    • Working 1-2-1 with the organisations and schools who are able to afford to do so, taking them on a change journey. Prioritising organisations with the biggest potential to scale impact.

    • Having impact at scale with cohort-based support for those organsations less able to afford bespoke consultancy, reinvesting some of our profits to help achieve this impact

    • Providing thought leadership, talks and blogs to encourage the responsible uptake of AI technologies.

About Our Founder Tim Cook

Tim brings a wealth of experience and a passion for ensuring an equitable outcome from the current AI revolution. With over a decade applying AI technologies to address societal challenges, and 4 years as part of the leadership team who set up the UK Government’s Office for AI, Tim’s journey is rooted in innovation, change and empowerment.

  • Tim spent 4-years as Deputy Head and then Head of the UK’s Office for Artificial Intelligence, part of the leadership team that set up and grew the unit. Here, he spearheaded initiatives on AI skills and adoption across the economy, navigated the national security implications of AI, was instrumental in negotiating the UK’s first legal definition of AI, and developed sections of the UKs first National AI Strategy on AI Governance and Skills.

  • Through his work on AI skills, Tim developed a strong belief in the necessity of empowering people with the skills to both work with and live alongside AI technologies, an ambition that he reflected in the National AI Strategy.

  • Twice setting up and growing new, innovation focused teams, during some of the most turbulent years in Government, Tim has a wealth of experience in both leading during changing times, and in leading internal change.

  • Coaching has been at the heart of Tim’s leadership successes, and he has spent many years coaching other leaders through change. His leadership coaching and workshop facilitation enables him to effectively communicate the complexities of AI and help leaders to foster an environment of learning and growth in their organisation.

  • AIConfident is the culmination of Tim’s passion and expertise, bringing together deep AI knowledge with leadership coaching to help purposeful leaders to navigate the changes of the AI revolution with confidence.
